Prevention at Park Chambers

Prevention is better than cure.

The cleaner a mouth is, the healthier it will be. This will help to reduce the need for invasive treatments in the future.

Our goal is to help you keep your mouth as healthy as possible. The commonest problems in the mouth are tooth decay and gum disease. There are a multitude of causes of these problems, however, what we eat and drink and how we clean our teeth are major factors. Healthy gums are as important as healthy teeth, as gums are the supporting structures holding our teeth in place.

Tooth decay can be repaired by a dentist or dental therapist and is usually a one-off procedure. Once the decay is removed and the tooth is restored, it should stay healthy for many years.

Gum disease is treated by the patient, with the help of the hygienist, therapist and the dentist. The fight against gum disease is ongoing. How you clean your teeth at home is very important. Cleaning in between your teeth, using floss or inter-dental brushes, are the most important weapons in the fight against gum disease.

Our aim is to educate our patients and help them to reduce the damage that diet and poor cleaning are responsible for. We are committed to helping our patients to reduce gum disease and tooth decay, giving them healthy teeth and gums with low maintenance costs.

New patients please contact the practice and speak to one of our team members for more information about our services and to book your initial new patient dental health check.
